Riding the TET (Day 2 | Slovenia)

22.08.2021

The next day I woke up at 6:30. I got up, made coffee, filled my water bag and packed my stuff, before continuing my ride.

After a few km of gravel road i got to the first challenging bit of my jurney.

In the TET map this is marked as “Technical Bits”. At first it leads to a underpass which was full of water that got my motorcycle all dirty!

Afterwards it led up a relatively steep hill. There were lots of rocks (both loose and solid) and Ididn’t want to stop, because I did not want to have to work the clutch all the way Up.

At this part I really missed the second fan i had thought about installing but the road quickly got more comfortable again and soon I was Back on paved road continuing my jurney through Slovenia.

I stopped at the town of Sezana, rested a bit and ate something. Afterwards i went on to Lipica where I looked at some horses living on a big Ranch.

Shortly afterwards the trail led me offroad to the loop next to Triest. While I could not go faster than 20-30km/h on the offroad parts, they were not that difficult.

I propably could even have gone faster, but while I did have my spare inner Tubes for the front and rear tire, i did not have an air pump to inflate the tire in case i had a flat.

I stopped at a place called “Castelliere del Monte Carso”, admired the place and the View.

Then I went on to the other two castles, went fully around the Loop and started going north again.

Soon I was back on the Track. I had gone south in earlier that day. I went on north and noticed, that I would soon pass Ajdovscina again. I had already done enough riding for the day and figured, relaxing a bit would be a good idea; so i went back to the same place where i had camped the day before. I set up my hammock and this time I also set up my tarp because the weatherforecast said it was going to rain during the night.

By the way, my dad informed me that my sidebags are backwards. Im not sure, Wether they are, but changing them now would need re-welding the frame i made to accommodate them…
