Riding the TET (Day 6 | Crossing Bosnia and Herzegowina)

This is not actually day 6 of my travel, but since I did not ride for three days (because of the rain), I will skip those days…

On day 6 I woke up in Croatia.

I was Well rested due to the three days of pause I had taken.

In the morning I packed all my stuff, had breakfast and left my apartment in gracac. I went to the nearest entry onto the TET and followed it to the border to Bosnien-Herzogovina.

The ride was nice, but uneventful. The offroad parts were mostly gravel roads which consisted of either fine gravel or larger, loose rocks. Multiple Times I crossed a railway before finally reaching the border.

The border crossing was very relaxed, the only problem was that I told the man that I was there for Transit; so I had 12 hours to ride there and then leave Bosnien Herzogovina to Montenegro.

As stated before, quickly crossing Bosnia and Herzegowina (Not riding the TET in order to win back some of the time that I lost during the heavy rain) had been the plan, but I had underestimated the distance that I had to ride.

I started riding, the roads were okay, but nothing interesting. They propably would be very fun, if I had gone faster but I dont want to ride speeds above 90km/h (for safety reasons and because i have a motocross helmet and no earplugs so it quickly gets loud).

First I went eastward and then a little south, until I was in Tomislavgrad, then I headed to Mostar.

After that the journey went to Scit, because it looked really cool in the map and it was absolutely awesome!

Afterwards I rode on the TET for a little while until I was in Konjsko.

I am a little bit sad about not riding the whole TET in the country, because that small part was awesome!

It lead onto a big mountain and up into the clouds, white gravel roads, that were sometimes very difficult, because they were washed out By the rain.

On the descent there was a relatively straight and wide gravel road, I could easily reach speeds of 80-90 km/h on them and it was very cool!

When I was down in the next valley I went on the road again and headed to Mostar.

I really liked riding through Mostar, on the roads in the city there are high buildings to the left and the right and a lot of trees, so there is cool shade while everywhere else its very hot and sunny.

When leaving Mostar, the sun was going down, so I went on big roads again.

My Stock KLR headlights are not very good in total darkness with fog

When I reached the border to Montenegro (near Gacko) it was pitch black outside and if that wasn’t bad already, it also started raining! My phone is not water tight so I had to put it away.

I was now in Montenegro, on some back road in the deepest backland, without a place to sleep, wet and cold and hungry, too!

Oh and also I didn’t have mobile data for some reason, so I also could not Type “Camping” into my Maps App…

So I aimlessly rode around for about half an hour before I found a somewhat bigger road.

I then went along that Road until I was in a town called Niksic.

There I went to the first hotel I saw and asked for a room for the night.

When I stepped into my hotel room it was 22 o clock and I only took off my riding gear before falling onto the ned and immediately falling asleep.
